The fascination with horizontal semi-icy in this area poses the Hielo Continental Sur or Hielo Patagonia Sur, one of the most interesting mountains in the world for its characteristics of isolation and the beauty of the mountains, many of which are still to climb and no name.
The proposal is targeted to those climbers curious and eager to live a great adventure in one place and out of the clamor. The highly variable climate of the area makes this long crossing, resulting in ascension, very difficult under the 'global commitment (physical and psychological) that requires, but the feeling that a place like this can give are really out of the ordinary. The
Hielo Sur is a Patagonian glacier along approximately 400 km wide and a hundred from the Pacific coast of Chile el 'latest offshoot of the Andes Patagonia before the plains of Argentina. It 's a place rich in detail and charm, suitable to be hate or love, as happened to me many years ago.
is the largest ice sheet on Earth, and includes within it the entire mountain ranges in altitude but not very often exceeds 3000 m. The average share of 'ice plateau is 1000 m. and the lava flows on the western side of the huge frozen rivers plunge their face waters of the 'Pacific Ocean.
Lying on the beach facing west, it is easy to see that the weather is stormy easily. The Earth's rotation and the presence of a large wet mass as the 'Ocean make that this place is one of the largest factories of disruption of the world.
This is one reason, in addition to being lapped by the cold Humboldt current, they do exist, the Patagonian Hielo Sur. Large and substantial rainfall and mountain tops are a great way to do a lot of snow accumulate on the ground and then in ice time. Just
facing eyes from Paso Marconi to "only" 1550 m, door 'entry into this fascinating world and hidden, it remains open-mouthed in front of the "space" plain dotted with the size of Himalayan mountain peaks. The
Volcan Lautaro 3623 m (source Wikipedia) , climbed in 1964 by Argentine Pedro Skvarca and Luciano Pera, is an active volcano covered in ice by the sheer scale and the slope angle varies from the line of ascent (slope south-east) dotted with large crevasses and traveled mostly entirely on skis.
you use mountaineering or telemark skis and sleds read nylon (provided by us) to carry backpacks at the base allowing you to save many energie.Considerando Paso Marconi that we are surrounded by the nearby peaks of the Fitz Roy Cerro Torre del Piero, the Gorra Blanca (just to mention the known names), we understand that the place and specialty ...
This proposal does not befit those who love alpine skiers "collect" the peaks and slopes, but is designed for lovers of 'experience' total 'in this place that a shipment can give to anyone who undertakes.
extreme isolation (adjective here is that this is the right place), climate and environmental hardness, fatigue, and they do make unpopular proposition, but not dite che non eravate stati avvertiti prima…

per amanti dell’ originale e delle cose belle, ben allenati alla fatica ed alla vita sulla neve che siano anche buoni sciatori con capacità alpinistiche discrete (OSA). skis and tents (provided by me) are part of the excess-baggage allowance.
Weigh well your luggage to avoid any problem and do not bring unnecessary parts that will not use. Is it cheaper to buy a t-shirt on the spot (which is also a good memory) that pay extrabaggage on airplanes!
The relief allowed is sufficient.
